Origin of the Made in Germany label
The origin of the Made in Germany label, which over time became synonymous with quality, can be traced to the end of the 19th
century. At that time, Great Britain introduced a labeling requirement for imported products in order to protect itself from
supposed lesser quality imitations. Since the quality of German products was good, often even better than the local ones,
the designation later developed into a kind of quality seal.
